Dale Emmart’s Blue and Yellow Drawing incorporates conte and collage to produce an abstract landscape of swirling lines and ribbons of cut handmade paper, alluding to automatic painting. Her diaristic gestures on the page communicate a slow and meticulous process that is both delicate and personal. Thoughts, feelings, and emotions appear on the page in her fluid compositions.
Born in New York City, Dale Emmart received a BFA from The Cooper Union and an MFA from Rhode Island School of Design.
